Scott Beatty is a play-by-play broadcaster and radio on-air host. He serves as the voice for the University of Illinois baseball with Fighting Illini Sports Properties (Learfield) and fills in for men's basketball play-by-play and other sports. Beatty also delivers play-by-play for Big Ten sports on B1G+, the streaming platform of the Big Ten Network.
Beatty also holds a variety of roles as an on-air host and operations manager for Champaign Multimedia Group's radio stations, WDWS/WHMS/WKIO in Champaign, Ill. He leads "Illini Gameday" pregame and postgame coverage around Illinois football and basketball coverage and hosts the daily two-hour SportsTalk program. In the past, he has served as host of a daily news program, anchored newscasts, and hosted election coverage.
Beatty is also a past winner for first place in the Best Radio Play-by-Play category for the Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome awards.
Prior to these roles, Beatty worked in minor league baseball as the voice of the Sioux Falls Canaries. He covered every game from 2010-2014, including a record-breaking season and run to the league championship in 2010. Beatty broke into professional baseball 2009, announcing for the Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier League.
Beatty began broadcasting at Parkland College in Champaign, Ill., spending a season as the play-by-play voice for men's and women's basketball along with baseball and softball.

Beatty is a graduate of the University of Illinois. He and his wife reside in the Champaign-Urbana area with their two children.
